Are Moss Control and Moss Spray the same?

Moss Control is usually a fertilizer product that also has powdered ferrous sulphate added.  Most products like this are very ineffective because the powdered ferrous sulphate only gets the top of the moss and the coverage is not even.  A professional company will mix ferrous sulphate as a solution.  At BUR-HAN lawn care the ferrous sulphate (iron and sulfur) solution is mixed for our wet environment.  Being in solution it is able to penetrate below the surface of the moss to choke out the moss.  Avoid liquid versions of moss kill sold in hardware stores as they also contain a liquid fertilizer.  The liquid fertilizer in our wet environment will leach quickly into surrounding ground water as the grass cannot uptake the fertilizer quickly enough.
